About the role /College

As the Technical Officer working within the STEM Technical Stores at RMIT, you will work with the Technical Coordinator and wider team to align the STEM College purchasing and document control. This role will see you liaise with a variety of stakeholders to ensure purchase orders within the STEM College are reviewed, signed and processed through the local central system as well in accordance with RMIT policies and procedures.

This role will also see you working within the STEM Technical Stores at RMIT, where you will be responsible for the daily store operations including the maintaining of stock levels of consumables and hazardous substances and carrying out tasks that include ordering Store stock, safe storage of consumables and hazardous substances as well as fulfilling internal order requests for consumables and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated knowledge/experience in a scientific (chemical, biological) or technical store or similar area;
Strong administrative skills, with the ability to work in a high pressure, deadline driven environment;
Experience in document control, with a strong work ethic and proactive approach to work;
Stakeholder management skills, and the ability to communicate with a wide range of staff;
An understanding of purchasing and processing orders (SAP knowledge would be an added advantage);
The ability to work autonomously, and within a team environment.
