JOB DESCRIPTION

Due to high demand for our services, Centre for Excellence in Rail Training Pty Ltd (CERT), is looking for professional part time/ casual trainers with a view to permanency, to join our team at training centre at Brooklyn, Victoria.

Trainers with skills and experience in rail infrastructure, rail safe-working or rail operations will be rewarded with attractive remuneration and a focus on work/life balance for all team members.

Key responsibilities:

  • Undertake training activities ensuring a supportive training environment
  • Develop a stimulating learning environment using a variety of styles, techniques and approaches to deliver required content
  • Ensure course participants are engaged in their training and assessment pathway
  • Maintain accurate attendance and academic records
  • Comply with all CERT policy and procedures and relevant legislative requirements
  • Participate in the development of courseware, materials and strategies
  • Apply a continuous improvement approach to carrying out all activities

Suitable applicants will have the following skills:

  • Demonstrated industry-based vocational currency
  • Current TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification
  • Qualifications and or experience in rail disciplines within rail networks and/or organisations. (In particular, you have TTSA, SARC and qualifications/units from the current Certificate II or III in Rail Infrastructure)
  • A detailed understanding of industry training packages, associated qualifications and units of competency
  • Experience in the delivery of training programs for rail and/or heavy industry candidates
  • Demonstration of high-level interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and adopt new technologies to continuously improve processes and service delivery

Desirable:

  • Experience in an industry-based RTO or in-house training role with a relevant rail operator or contractor
