Head of Digital

Trading under Publicis Media Australia

Location: Melbourne

Purpose of the role

The Head of Digital is responsible for the operational success and performance of the agency’s Melbourne offering.

This role is responsible for operationalising the vision for digital, creating efficiency and effectiveness in our digital practice - our people, technology - and creating initiatives with the National Head of Digital to deliver our commercial goals.

The Melbourne Head of Digital provides strategic thought leadership on process, product development and the growth and success of digital (including search, social, programmatic and ad tech operations).

This role will work hand in hand with the National Head of Digital and the Sydney/Brisbane Head of Digital (HOD) to standardise how we approach digital across the business strategically and operationally, promoting a culture of performance and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

Is involved in key strategic projects for clients. Works horizontally with Publicis Media teams/Group Business Directors (GBDs)/ and manages upwards and downwards where appropriate to pull in the right expertise to showcase our digital capabilities

Account Management

Responsible for delivering a progressive view of the role of digital and ad technologies to our agency and our clients

Planning

Work with market leadership and the National Head of Digital to develop specialist digital product, commercial and innovation opportunities. This involves liaising with the National Head of Digital to drive adoption of the agency’s specialist digital products across search, SEO, programmatic as well as the Publicis Digital Practices, i.e. Technology and Activation Group (TAAG), Precision and Content.

Buying

Has working knowledge across all digital channels (SEO/Paid search/social/programmatic/Display)

Implementation

Ensure that our digital leads are empowered to deliver best practice digital products for our clients. Assume accountability and ownership of operational performance across relevant performance.

Relationship Management

Oversee a team of specialist digital directors, review process, results. Responsible for staffing and team allocation by ensuring we have the right specialist digital teams and skills in place.

Collaborate with Publicis media teams/National Head of Digital and specialist leads to ensure we are identifying product opportunities for Melbourne clients

Minimum Qualifications

Experience Required

  • This position requires a relevant tertiary qualification or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of qualification.? This role also requires 12+ years of media planning/buying experience within a media or marketing environment
  • A deep understanding of all media channels and exceptionally strong client servicing skills
  • A thought leader
  • Intimate knowledge of the Australian media landscape across all media, trends and opportunities
  • Proven track record in leading high performance teams
  • Excellent reputation in market with media owners
  • Strong client servicing skills and has developed trusted relationships at CMO level
