Job Description

The Principal Commercial is to develop and implement strategies that optimise commercial outcomes to support operations and associated infrastructure, and to lead the negotiation and execution of commercial agreements that are not marketing or supply contracts.


Accountabilities


  • Support the progress beyond concept phase of approved green / brownfield growth projects through successful negotiation of development rights with government / third parties.
  • Lead negotiations on complex commercial matters that facilitate operational or risk management objectives, through to contract execution.
  • Co-ordinate the necessary specialist resources both in-house and external (legal, technical, project services) to ensure projects achieve target objectives.
  • Provide commercial advice to help guide future green / brownfield development opportunities.
  • Contribute to a favourable positioning of Minerals Australia with external stakeholders.

Qualifications


  • Significant experience in a commercial advisory role.
  • Project / Transaction management.
  • Extensive legal / contract management knowledge.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and / or valuation.
  • Experience within the resources industry. Good understanding of mining operations, including associated processing transport infrastructure and markets.
  • Accurate and current knowledge of the iron ore / mining industries.
  • Relationship management experience.
  • Experience in dealing with government authorities.
  • Experience in risk assessment / management.
