The opportunity:
MK2 have multiple vacancies for Maintenance and Construction Operators situated on Kangaroo Island.
The role:
The successful applicants will:
- undertake tasks associated with maintenance and construction of roads, drainage and other civil infrastructure including earthworks, concrete, pipe-laying, bitumen and vegetation.
- Provide competent traffic management associated with the control and direction of vehicular traffic through and around work sites.
- be required to operate plant machinery (Grader, loader, backhoe, roller etc) for construction and maintenance activities – multi-skilled operators are highly desirable.
- Keep relevant records and recording details of works performed.

What you will need to succeed:
- SACE or Equivalent as determined by the Manager, or a substantive working history within a relevant industry (essential)
- Current Driver’s License (Car – essential, Class ‘HC’ – desirable)
- Work Zone Traffic Management ticket (essential)
- White Card (essential)
- Certificate 3 in Civil Construction or equivalent (desirable)
- Experience working with Chainsaws, Ride-on Mowers, Tractors with Attachments, Forklift, Rotary Hoe, Handheld Motorised Plant (rollers, jackhammers, tempers etc), Gardening appliances, Plant & Equipment (essential/desirable)
- Skid Steer, Front-End Loader and other plant machinery tickets are highly regarded.
- Must be happy to obtain a Police Record Check
- Be physically fit, healthy, and agile since this position involves manual labouring duties.
Additional information:
The successful applicants will:
- Be available for out of hours emergency call outs
- Be happy to provide a Police Record Check
- Have proven ability to be an active and effective member of a team
- Have good written and verbal communication and basic numeracy skills
- Have proficient computer skills with experience across the MS Office Suite
