Apprenticeship Careers Australia (ACA) currently have an awesome opportunity for 1st – 4th Year Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Fabrication Apprentices to join our service and repair teams located in Wetherill Park, Smithfield, Milperra, Lane Cove, Minto and Padstow. The roles are varied across the field electrical, mining, transport, tool making and precision medical engineering.

Mechanical Engineering:
As a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice you will be working for one of our recognised partners who work on all things in repair maintenance, testing and manufacture of various components, machinery and tools. With some research and development, you will be working with equipment and machining dealing with very precise tolerances.
You will be surrounded by qualified tradesmen and contractors to support you as an apprentice. You will gain practical experience working on site with our dynamic Mechanical Engineers across Sydney whilst studying to complete a Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade at TAFE.
Engineering Fabrication:
As an Engineering Fabrication Apprentice you will be working for one of our recognised partners who specialise in manufacturing items in aluminium and stainless steel. The company specialises in the manufacture and design of specialist electrical cabinetry and switchboards.
Throughout the apprenticeship you will gain practical experience working in the factory with our metal fabrication partners whilst attending TAFE, studying to complete a Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication.
Duties May Include:
- Mechanical workshop work
- Assist tradesmen and technicians
- Prepare and Machine shafts
- Assemble motors and parts
- Working with specialised and high-end equipment with precise tolerances
- Operate hand and power tools
- Observe and receive training to work in the field
- Metal Fabrication
- Installation ,service, repairs and maintenance
Potential Candidates
- Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Drivers licence preferred but not essential
- Completed Engineering as a VET school subject, pre-apprenticeship or Certificate II in Engineering (Mechanical or Fabrication) is an advantage
- Mechanical and technical aptitude
- Preferably good with maths and sciences (Problem solver, fault finder
- Eye for detail, ability to follow procedures and work safely
