This vacancy is to be filled within the WA Government Health System by secondment, temporary deployment or Fixed Term Contract. Current WA Government Health employees (including permanent, fixed term contract and those on secondment) are eligible to apply.

WA Health policies require applicants to undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

Position Profile: The Aboriginal Health Liaison Coordinator provides leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of Aboriginal Health Liaison Services and culturally appropriate health care delivery to Aboriginal patients receiving care at the Armadale Kalamunda Group. The Coordinator provides practical and cultural support to Aboriginal patients of AKG and their families and provides cultural awareness training and education to AKG staff. The Cooorfinator also consults and negotiates with key stakeholders and the Aboriginal community to ensure inter-sectoral support for initiatives and provides cultural leadership and support to staff and managers within AKG and EMHS communities.
 

Area Profile:Armadale Health Service (AHS) is a general hospital focused on providing a range of high quality health care services in the community. The hospital, which is part of the Armadale Kalamunda Group, is equipped with an Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit and provides high-quality general medical and surgery services, rehabilitation, maternity, paediatric and neonatal, mental health, renal medicine and dialysis services and ambulatory care.
 
Kalamunda District Community Hospital (KDCH) is a specialist hospital and is part of the Armadale Kalamunda Group. The hospital provides both day surgical procedures and a specialist inpatient palliative care service for patients in the east metropolitan area.
