Primary Purpose

  • The Risk Capability and Analysis team (RCA) facilitate consistent, risk-based and transparent assignment of operational resources to SACFS brigades andgroups.
  • RCA prescriptions stipulate the capabilities allocated to brigades (such as structural firefighting and road crash rescue) and prescribe training, membership,equipment, vehicles and station type based on risks in the brigade or group’s response area.
  • The Capability Planning and Policy Analyst provides evidence and data driven policy advice to SACFS and, where appropriate, liaises with external agencies inthe provision of RCA information on behalf of SACFS.
  • SACFS RCA strategic projects and programs are developed, implemented and aligned to best practice.
  • Contribution and provision of RCA advice for the assessment of, and response to, policy matters that affect/impact on the risk and capability of SACFS to deliverservices aligned with SA Government, Sector and Agency goals.
  • Engage and provide advice regarding specific recommendations relevant to research and reports, which facilitate continuous improvement within SACFS.
  • Formulate and apply RCA change management strategies and acts as the key driver of stakeholder engagement.
  • Required to participate and a times lead relevant RCA reference groups and other forums, in addition to across agency presentations.
  • Write and maintain RCA policies and supporting documentation.
  • Undertake risk analysis and develop asset replacement and infrastructure upgrade plans to best address the identified risk.

Essential Qualifications
  • A relevant tertiary qualification at bachelor (AQF-7) level or above

$92,784 - $98,143 p.a.
