We also provide clean, efficient electricity and gas to almost one million customers - households and businesses - across the country through our retail energy business.

An exciting opportunity exists for an Electrical Tradesperson within the Regional Support Team at Khancoban. The successful candidate will be expected to primarily support small project construction work, project punch list defect rectification. In support of the Production team, conduct routine corrective, defect and breakdown maintenance of generating units and auxiliary plants contributing to achieving the required availability and reliability of Snowy Hydro assets across the entire scheme.

Reporting to the Regional Support Team Leader - Electrical, you will be responsible for:

Conduct routine and breakdown maintenance on hydro generating plant and auxiliary plant;

Install, overhaul and test hydro generating plant, auxiliary, outlying equipment and structures;

Undertake electrical trades tasks within competencies, qualifications, and authorisation;

Maintain records by completing all admin paperwork and utilising the maintenance management systems;

Perform electrical construction, installation and repair work, including verification and sign-off of electrical work according to regulatory standards and internal requirements;

Training and supervision of apprentices.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Cert III in Electrical Trade and current Electrical Licence;

A current drivers Licence;

Desire to live and work in a semi remote rural area;

The ability to spend extended periods away from your home base;

Relevant post trade experience in construction or power industry working on, and maintaining, electrical equipment, especially maintenance of large plant;

Knowledge of maintenance program requirements, management practices and analysis techniques;

Computer skills including reports, spreadsheets, PDF updates, technical drawing systems;

Sound knowledge of electrical installation, control systems, DC Batteries, maintenance, testing, commissioning and monitoring procedures;

Demonstrated ability to communicate with a range of personnel and customers;

Knowledge of WH&S, EEO and environmental policies and standards;

Knowledge of High Voltage systems (desirable).
