Records and Research Officer

Situated in the heart of Western Australia’s Great Southern region, the Shire of Gnowangerup is an inclusive, progressive and prosperous community. The Shire includes the stunning Stirling Ranges, three towns, attractive rural landscape, and boasts a relaxed country lifestyle, yet includes all of the benefits of having a regional centre with excellent amenities. The Shire is seeking an enthusiastic individual for the position of Records and Research Officer.
As the Records and Research Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the records management function for the Shire, ensuring compliance with the Shire’s Record Keeping Plan and the State Records Act 2000, and Freedom of Information. You will also provide research and information retrieval services for Shire staff. Experience in office administration, project management, research or similar will be highly regarded. Training and development in Local Government records keeping, relevant legislation and software will be provided.
This is a fulltime (76 hours per fortnight) permanent Level 5 position under the Local Government Industry Award 2020 and salary and conditions will be in accordance with that award.
