Where you come in:
In this full-time permanent position, based in Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne, you will provide excellent Finance Partnering support to Library For All stakeholders, and join Library For All’s Senior Leadership Team, to deliver a range of advanced strategic finance modelling, analysis, and financial framework implementations to support and inform scaling and ongoing sustainability. You will be part of our Save the Children Commercial Finance team and report to our Commercial Finance Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing regular and ad-hoc financial reports in line with business unit and wider Save the Children Australia CEO and Board deadlines and statutory requirements of Library For All
  • Leading all day-to-day accounting operations for Library for All, including processing of financial transactions, month end close procedures, and prepare and analyse monthly financial and management reports
  • Managing and developing regular financial outlooks for Library for All
  • Initiating and completing strategic financial analysis, scenario modelling, trend and competitor analysis
  • Managing one Accountant, to deliver a range of management and financial reporting such as monthly reporting, forecasting and budgeting
  • Setting up, maintaining and embedding fit for purpose financial frameworks for evolving LFA business requirements
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders to build in-depth understanding of business needs and requirements

You will bring an innovative, agile and pragmatic approach while being able to take a strong strategic lens on all finance activities, along with excellent leadership and capability building skills. Your ability to see the strategic implications of different scenarios will mean that the team seeks you out for your insights and commercial advice. You are highly organised, thrive under pressure, and are pragmatic and solutions focused, while keeping a keen eye on the latest trends in reporting and use of data and systems.

This role requires:

  • Tertiary qualification in Commerce or Business, or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in a prior Finance Partnering role, ideally in a business growth/start-up environment
  • Experience in both financial and management accounting including managing profit & loss and balance sheet, budget/forecast and business performance activities across an organisation
  • Proven record implementing and embedding financial systems and processes in a complex finance structure
  • Proven strategic thinker and innovator with highly developed relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including report writing skills and the ability to translate complexity into simple business terms
  • Demonstrated success in leading and inspiring others
