The Employer Branding Manager

This leadership role can be described in two ways: keeping the boat afloat, while also making sure the direction of the boat gets us to the island where the secret treasure is stashed. Metaphors aren’t your thing? Here’s what I mean:

Role

Reporting to the Director of Talent and sitting on the leadership team, your role will be to manage the foundational Employer Branding tasks like
  • Educating and ensuring the Talent team are using strategic sourcing channels and assisting them with organic and paid advertising,
  • Managing sourcing channel and Talent Technology profiles, account management relationships, negotiating terms and budget,
  • Maintaining both the home career site and segmented career sites – ensuring fresh employee generated video and written content is created and published,
  • Embed Video My Job into each hiring process and team communications with leadership team.
  • Continuously improving our candidate, hiring manager and unsuccessful candidate experiences through optimising the way we communicate
  • Ensuring digital and physical accessibility in our recruitment process
  • Coordinating Talent Team monthly meetings & quarterly showcases,
  • Previously, people leadership was part of the role and may be required during your time.
  • Stakeholder management across Academic and Operational areas of the organisation (it’s ok if you haven’t working in Higher Education before, though!)

You’ll also be the owner or a key contributor to the following projects:
  • Employer Value Propositions and campaign work as aligned to the Talent Inclusion and Diversity & Inclusion priorities. Hint: Indigenous EVP is up next!
  • Sit on the steering committee for “Talent Pipelining” for Athena Swan, a Women in STEMM 4-year accreditation
  • Managing all Talent Pipeline (expression of interests) communications: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, Women in Engineering and Science, Vocational Education, and more as they come up!
  • Maintaining the “First 180 Days” new starter experience and portal,
  • Maintaining our Employer of Choice recognition across D&I accreditations, Internal Talent Awards, Randstad, Circle Back Initiative... just to name a few! You’ll also need to prepare quarterly reports for our Exec team so they can share in our pride!

Your main working relationships will be across the Talent Team, including Talent Inclusion and Diversity & Inclusion team members.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll need the fire in your belly to bring every experience the Talent team delivers to be the best it can be. You’ll have leadership experience in Employer Branding, Recruitment Marketing, Diversity & Inclusion or Talent Inclusion.

The Ingredients To Your Success In This Role Are
  • Genuine curiosity about how the sector operates and thrives
  • Willingness to learn and break things - you must be a “yes” person
  • A natural brand ambassador (ideally, you’ll have a large presence in our Employer Branding community)
  • A humble recognition that your skill set is one piece of the puzzle
  • Community-minded: we attract, retain and build authentic and culturally-safe career pathways for all communities.
