Mater Research has an exceptional opportunity for a Research Engagement Officer to join our team in a full-time capacity to provide high quality services to Maters research community to increase biomedical and clinical research integration and attract national and international competitive grant funding. There is flexibility in this role to work 1 day per week from home.

The Research Engagement Officers role encompass the following duties:

* Proactive identification and gathering of researcher achievements and exceptional outputs, for internal and external promotion.
* Liaise with Mater Strategy, Marketing and Communications Team, The University of Queensland Marketing units, and the TRI Marketing Team to disseminate Mater Researcher achievements.
* Assist the Senior Research Engagement Officer in capturing evidence of organisational research impact that supports preparation of strategic statements relating to Mater Researchs Program and overall performance.
* When required serve as a proxy for the Senior Research Engagement Officer at research engagement related meetings.
* Maximise Mater Research/Mater Researcher nominations for prestigious local, national and international award or fellowship opportunities.
* Provide expert assistance and advice to Maters research community to improve awareness of and preparedness for investigator focused and smaller scale grant scheme opportunities and opportunities to partner with our key stakeholders.
* Respond to and action on all research engagement related communications from the Research Engagement email inbox.
* To work with the Mater Strategy, Marketing and Communications team regarding the content of Mater Researchs Research Engagement related web or social media content.
* Collate and report on research related metrics such as publications, internal and external collaboration as required,

The qualifications and attributes that will facilitate your success in this role are:

* PhD in a Health Research discipline relevant to Mater Research or equivalent knowledge in research administration.
* Current knowledge of legislation, guidelines, standards, requirements relating to research administration, or a demonstrated ability to acquire this knowledge.
* Demonstrated highly developed administrative skills, including high-level proficiency in the use of MS Office suite, and demonstrated practical experience with maintaining electronic databases.
* Demonstrated interpersonal and service skills and ability to communicate and influence diverse stakeholders.
* Experience in relevant areas of administration in the research, higher education sectors.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team, and to independently establish work priorities, to set realistic goals and meet deadlines.
* Competency in health research terminology and an ability to communicate meaningfully about health-related research.
* Experience in science communication and promotion.

Contract duration: Initial 12 months contract with 3-year extension dependent on performance

Salary: $82,215p.a. -$89,922 p.a. depending on experience
