Category Manager

As part of the Division of the Chief Operating Officer, the Financial Services team works in partnership with the University community to drive insights for decision making, promote financial stability and foster innovation to impact and enhance customer experience.
The Opportunity
Work closely with leadership, Category Managers and the Procurement team to deliver Category Management and assist in building a culture of continuous improvement, value creation, lean processes, innovation and delivery of the Universitys strategic objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
* Develop, lead and execute category plans and sourcing strategies based on research and data analytics to optimise value for money outcomes.
* Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts and supply continuity.
* Work closely with stakeholders on key negotiations on supply arrangements and contract issues to optimise category outcomes.
* Provide advice and support on all aspects of procurement and the procurement category.
* Challenge and motivate stakeholders to innovate and deliver excellence in embedded sustainability outcomes from procurement.
Your Application
To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;
* Completion of Degree in Business, Commerce, Procurement, Logistics or Supply Chain, or other relevant qualifications, or demonstrated capability through industry experience.
* Ability to lead the delivery and evaluation of contemporary, innovative and fit for purpose tendering processes.
* Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a customer focussed approach to service delivery.
* Sound data analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong commercial awareness of the benefits.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,533 comprising base salary within the range of $98,122 to $111,567 plus 17% superannuation.
