The Role

The IT Production Lead is fully responsible and accountable for the effective operation of Hogarth's technologies as required within the sites that will be defined as part of the scope, with the aim of providing a stable and fully functioning production environment across the content studios, both onsite and remotely.

The IT Production Lead will coordinate insourced and outsourced deskside resources where required, working alongside WPP IT and Hogarth internal and external support services in the implementation of new production system environments. This could range from setting up an on-site workstation to the setup of new infrastructure or cloud technology within our sites. It includes Incident and Problem management in collaboration with the Service Desk. Delivery of services and support for project work will also be in scope.

Production systems in use at Hogarth include standard application suites and custom workflow tools. The standard applications include, but are not restricted to; Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Maya, Autodesk Flame for Mac, Avid Media Composer & Pro Tools, Maxon Cinema 4D, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, Tektronix Aurora, Telestream, The Foundry Nuke, JAMF, ESKO Automation Engine workflows, UTC, Chili Publish and Active Directory.

The IT Production Lead will drive key relationship with Hogarth at the in-scope sites. He/She will also be a key interaction point with third party vendors that are part of the integrated service model.

Reporting line

WPP AUNZ Head of IT Services and Hogarth National Technology Lead.

You will work closely with the entire content studio, both Sydney and Melbourne HUB offices as well as supporting our various Satellite offices.

Key Responsibilities:

Desktop & Application Support

  • Level 2 and 3 incident and problem management, including support, maintenance, administration and troubleshooting of video, audio and studio production equipment and systems.
  • Extensive experience supporting Mac OS X and Windows operating systems, preferably in a production environment, and holding the relevant support essentials qualifications.
  • Manage the purchasing, set-up and imaging of workstations and staff machines.
  • Liaison with Infrastructure and Application teams for assistance with project work as required
  • Communicate production issues with team colleagues and Operational / Technical stakeholders.
Systems & Network Support
  • Administer and support our Broadcast SAN, Object Storage and Windows File Server storage instances.
  • Maintain our backup and archive infrastructure, policies and operations on a regular basis.
  • Maintain Data Centre infrastructure and cloud storage and VDI testing environments.
  • Plan for future expansion requirements and provide appropriate input into the budgeting process.
IT Infrastructure
  • Alongside WPP IT Support Desk, assist helpdesk in troubleshooting and resolving any reported problems.
  • Alongside Hogarth operations team, develop and maintain installation, configuration and all BCP / DR procedures.
  • Ensure security standards and best practices are adhered to for all systems.
  • Apply OS updates, patches and configuration changes on systems.
  • Analyse system logs and identify any potential issues with systems.
  • Keep abreast of changing technology by investigating new systems, practices and equipment.
  • Responsibility for documentation on the configuration, maintenance and operation of systems.

Required Experience
  • Relevant experience within a Broadcast or Production Support and Administration role (5+ years minimum)
  • Good working knowledge of Mac OS X, Autodesk Applications, Network (Cisco, Juniper), NAS / SAN and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Expert knowledge of Unix/Linux, Mac and Windows Server OS technologies and administration.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of relevant scripting languages (eg. Terminal, Python, Bash).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills & General "can-do" service attitude.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with senior (technical and non-technical) managers.
  • Ability to interpret/discuss requirements with colleagues to develop and support new systems requirements.
