Job Summary:

Provide best practise procurement whilst providing exceptional levels of customer service and stakeholder engagement.

Who we are:

The position will work as part of the Finance, Procurement and Facilities team, providing corporate support to the frontline operations of the Department for Trade and Investment. We engage with all areas of the Department, including our overseas offices.

The role:

The Senior Procurement Business Partner is responsible for providing a range of efficient and responsive procurement planning, administration and management services, to ensure the ongoing consistency of department procurement practices with whole of government policies and optimise cost efficient and procurement risk management outcomes for the department. In this capacity the position is responsible for:

  • Development of department contracts, policy, framework and procedures in accordance with legislation, audit regulations, Treasurer’s Instructions, and State Procurement Board policies and guidelines
  • Undertake review, development and continuous improvement of procurement processes through review, development and implementation of guidelines, procedures and policies
  • Development and delivery of procurement capability program and training
  • Provides expert procurement policy advice to management and stakeholders for simple and complex procurements
  • Establishing and maintaining sound business relationships with suppliers, government agencies and industry through effective consultation and collaboration
Ensuring that the highest possible professional standards are maintained in relation to confidentiality, probity and ethical conduct.

About you:
  • Good working knowledge of procurement principles and processes
  • A high level of written and oral communication geared towards reporting, the preparation of briefings and presentations, including the ability to explain concepts succinctly
  • Proven ability to work under broad direction, either independently or as a member of a team, determine priorities, set and meet deadlines and exercise judgement, initiative and delegated authority in the resolving of issues
  • Demonstrated experience in end to end procurement processes
  • Experience in developing and maintaining effective networks and operational relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Qualifications in procurement, business, contract management or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in a State government procurement role.
Special Conditions:
  • Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years
  • Full-time, fixed term contract up to 2 years.
Remuneration: ASO6, $92,784 - $98,143pa
