About the opportunity

Join Alcoa’s Exploration Team in this unique role within our West Australian operations. As the Environmental, Health and Safety (HSE) Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and assistance across the exploration processes, to ensure that Alcoa’s operational and mandated standards are achieved with a focus on continuous improvement. This is a Monday to Friday position that will allow you to achieve true work life balance, the opportunity to work on site and return home each night – no FIFO!

In order to achieve this, you will be carrying out inspections and audits as well as collecting, reporting and advising on key performance indicators. Your focus will be towards implementing controls and programs to improve performance, in consultation with the Alcoa and Contractor Supervisors and Managers, and then communicating these plans, initiatives and programs to improve HSE performance for the group

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

  • Relevant EHS qualifications supported by working experience in a mining or exploration environment
  • A strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and focus on continuous improvement
  • Proven strong and highly effective verbal and written communication skills, including experience with documenting and /or revising procedures as well as engaging and building relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated knowledge and effective application of H&S Management Systems and investigation process including incident reporting
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
