JOB DESCRIPTION

ERM is seeking an experienced Mid-Level to Senior Heritage Consultant to join our growing team in Sydney on a permanent contract basis. ERM’s National Heritage Team is comprised of highly-regarded archaeologists, anthropologists, heritage architects, interpretive specialists, and historians, working across all regions of Australia.

The role will involve working as part of a team in the preparation of cultural heritage assessments, undertaking field survey, research, report writing and project management. Role Responsibilities

  • Undertake/lead cultural heritage survey and assessment, primarily in NSW and on an as-needed basis in other States and Territories;
  • Project manage multiple projects to budget within client’s expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables;
  • Undertake Aboriginal stakeholder consultation;
  • Scope/cost projects and work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop strategic approaches to deliver best project outcomes;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to support repeat business;
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM disciplines.
If you have the following, we want to hear from you:
  • Tertiary degree in archaeology, anthropology, history, Aboriginal studies, or a similar discipline, or post-graduate qualifications in museum/heritage management studies, or similar (Honours or equivalent);
  • 4-7 years’ experience ideally gained from within a consulting environment;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal and historic heritage management environment, including experience in field investigations and recording, research, impact assessment and the NSW heritage statutory approvals process;
  • Demonstrated experience with client liaison and in successfully managing complex projects;
  • Excellent writing and communication skills;
  • Ability to manage time and priorities independently and efficiently, and assist the rest of the team in meeting project objectives and deadlines;
  • Being able and prepared to undertake field work and have the ability to work in remote locations;
  • A current valid Australian driver’s licence;
  • Knowledge of WHS obligations and responsibilities relevant to the role; and
  • Authorisation to work in Australia
