Cyril Jackson Senior Campus (SC) is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics and Science Teacher, with excellent interpersonal skills.

The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and passionate teacher of Mathematics and Science, with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. We are looking to appoint a teacher who is committed to personal and professional growth, and who possesses the ability to develop innovative classroom practices. Applicants with a particular specialisation in Human Biology are encouraged to apply.

The timetable of this position includes a class of Year 12 Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Mathematics and 0.2FTE allocated for the iLearn program for students studying Applications and Methods remotely. As Cyril Jackson SC participates in the Curtin University UniReady program, in Semester 1 there is a class of Applying Mathematics, which in Semester 2, will be the Health Science course, for which a knowledge of human biology would be useful. The success applicant should also be comfortable with using Information Technology (IT) platforms such as Moodle (school classes) and the Curtin equivalent tool, Blackboard.

Our Campus offers a wide range of Year 11 and 12 courses with a range of students with ages from 16 years old working towards school graduation to older adults who are here to follow their interests and international students attending our Intensive English Centre. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees will be required to:

TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
