A supply chain planning analyst at diector level in the supply chain practice advises end-user clients in supply chain planning leadership roles on best practices using Gartner and practitioner content, case studies and their own research. In person interactions directly with our clients on video calls is a major part of this role. As an analyst you will strive to increase client engagement and ensure each supply chain planning leader is making full use of Gartners resources. You’ll ask insightful questions to diagnose the causes of supply chain planning challenges and recommend the best course of action. You might suggest different approaches or talk a supply chain planning leader through a best practice from a different industry that could work within their business. You’ll work with supply chain planning leaders to foster deep, broad relationships. In addition to applying and packaging Gartner resources to meet their challenges, you will sense patterns among client needs to guide the research agenda and tailor our event calendar. You will also support revenue partners in commercial meetings.

What you’ll do:

Conduct ongoing interactions with clients mainly through video calls, but also through face to face sessions and formal presentations.

Engage supply chain planning leaders to build relationships, lead discussions with clients that diagnose their needs, solve their problems, and identify how relevant Gartner resources can help them meet their priorities

Become recognized as a subject matter expert, and thought leader, in supply chain planning and by so doing drive client demand for your personal expertise

Support Sales and Service Delivery partners to increase account growth and retention

Create and deliver high-value presentations and other materials at Gartner, industry and client briefings. Collaborate across research groups to ensure presentations and messages comprehensively represent best practices.

Help shape the direction of ongoing supply chain planning research by contributing at key stages of the strategic research process

Conduct research and write in-depth reports that demonstrate a mastery of best practices and strategies to guide user decision making in core supply chain planning, S&OP and S&OE.

What you’ll need:

10+ years of experience in Supply Chain, with demonstrated expertise in the supply chain planning and S&OP areas.

Experience in implementing and driving S&OP/IBP processes, and leading demand and supply planning is preferred.

Have expertise in supply chain planning and preferably in at least one other adjacent area such as demand planning, supply and inventory planning, distribution planning, and/or manufacturing master planning.

Understand the end-to-end supply chain, and ability to link best practices in planning to business strategies.

Demonstrate strong business and financial acumen and analytical skills

Be able to travel as applicable for Gartner supply chain symposia

Bachelor’s degree

Proficiency in developing graphics and converting written content to presentation materials is an advantage
