Senior Transport and Infrastructure Planner

  • $101,120 - $122,348 (Plus Superannuation)

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the position of Senior Transport and Infrastructure Planner within the Earth Resources Policy and Programs Branch (ERPP) is responsible for designing and managing projects focused on developing innovative and strategic ways to improve the efficient delivery of extractive resources from their source (quarries and/or processing sites) to market. 

Extractive resources (sand, rock and gravel) are needed for construction of public infrastructure, affordable housing and private sector development across the State. The position plays an important role in implementing key elements of the Victorian Government's Extractives Resources Strategy including managing the implementation of key Transport and Infrastructure planning related actions in the Strategy and provision of authoritative economic and cost information and advice to support these initiatives. 

Key accountabilities:

  1. Plan and lead the delivery of priority transport planning and supply chain logistics projects to being implemented under the Extractive Resources Strategy. 
  2. Provides transport related data and advice for planning and modelling projects being implemented under the Extractive Resources Strategy as directed. 
  3. Work collaboratively with stakeholders across government planning, transport and infrastructure agencies.

The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across the Earth Resources Policy and Programs Branch.

The position of Senior Transport and Infrastructure Planner forms a part of the Resources branch within the Rural and Regional Victoria group.

The Resources Branch develops policy, programs and regulation to enable investment and generate jobs through the sustainable development of the State's earth resources, including extractives, minerals and petroleum.
