The University of Western Australia (UWA) is ranked amongst the top 100 universities in the world and a member of the prestigious Australian Group of Eight research-intensive universities. With an enviable research track record, vibrant campus and working environments, supported by the freedom to ‘innovate and inspire’ there is no better time to join Western Australia’s top University.

About the team

The University of Western Australia has a range of student equity and access programs that are located within Student Life including:

  • The Western Australian Children’s University Partnership and Aspire UWA, which work in partnership with primary and high schools in Perth and regional WA to support students underrepresented in higher education and encourage lifelong learning.
  • Fairway UWA provides an alternative entry pathway to the University of Western Australia for students whose academic potential has been impacted by disadvantage.
  • Girls in Engineering (GiE) inspires female students to take advantage of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) study and the career pathways available in this area.

With less than 15 per cent of women in the Australian engineering workforce, GiE specifically aims to demystify what engineering means, break stereotypes about girls in STEM fields and increase female participation in STEM and Engineering. The GiE program connects current UWA students and industry partners with students in years 7 to 12 in the classroom and hosts on-campus Discovery Days to showcase engineering activities at UWA.

GiE works closely with the Faculty of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences (EMS) and the Brand, Marketing and Recruitment (BMR) division to support the strategic marketing and recruitment objectives of the program and Faculty. The program sponsor at UWA is the Executive Dean of EMS.

The Brand and Marketing team provides strategic brand direction and ongoing brand management for the University. The marketing area works across all global markets to help build the brand position and to attract business partners and students to UWA. The Brand and Marketing team consults across all areas of the University to implement marketing plans and associated activities including events.
