JOB DESCRIPTION

Boral Cement is looking for an engaging Commercial Finance Manager with a collaborative mindset. This role will partner with the Sales and Marketing team to improve decision support and commercial focus and to drive superior commercial and financial outcomes. This includes developing the financial literacy within the business, driving business performance including supporting Boral's Continuous and Value Improvement Programs, providing independent financial perspectives to senior leaders, and supporting customer and general commercial arrangements.

This position will be offered as a 16 Month Fixed Term Contract.

Reporting to the GM Commercial Finance (Cement), you will be involved in:

  • Working with Operational General Managers and their team to deliver strategy alignment across the business to successfully develop and execute strategy.
  • Use financial targets benchmarks, models and performance metrics to drive strategic decision making and performance.
  • Ongoing improvement to short and medium term business performance by recommending authoritative financial, technical, operational and commercial solutions.
  • Keeping the business unit updated and engaged on the achievement and delivery of financial targets and strategies.
  • Improving risk awareness, strategic decision making and integrated performance management.
  • Providing sound commercial and analytical support to operations to deliver profitable and sustainable growth.
  • Input into the preparation and delivery of operating budgets and forecasts in accordance with Group requirements with strong support of central resources.
  • Identifying value adding opportunities in revenue and cost through the application of insightful financial analysis tools.
  • Partnering with relevant GM’s, Operations and Sales Managers in their review of project profitability and performance.
  • Working with central finance team assist them with delivering monthly reported result and to ensure that financial results are materially correct.
  • Providing input into audit, governance, risk and compliance.
  • Integrating financial analysis tools into operational decision making.

Are you the right fit? Ideally, we would like you to have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Finance or Economics.
  • Professional membership in either CPA or CA.
  • Proven experience providing expert advice on financial outcomes pertaining to end to end sales, logistics and operations in large and complex industrial or manufacturing businesses.
  • Experience of planning, managing and organising resources within short / medium timescales.
  • Experience in supply chain accounting and commercial analysis.
  • Experience in databases and reporting tools (Hyperion and Cognos an advantage).
  • Experience in S&OP (Sales &Operation Planning) or similar.
  • Solid understanding of key supply chain drivers, metrics and analytics.
