    About You

    As an experienced Marine Cook, you will be dedicated to providing nutritional meals that cover the requirements of the ship. You will demonstrate proactive teamwork and collaboration with colleagues to ensure the needs to the ship are met in a timely manner. You will effectively manage your time, resources and relationships to ensure work is completed efficiently. You will be adaptable to change and will maintain composure and effectiveness when experiencing changes in work responsibilities. You are a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do.

    About The Role

    Reporting to the vessels Master, the Cook works alongside other hospitality personnel on board, and assists in supervising any other people working in the catering areas. The Cook assists in preparing all meals, cleaning the galley and ensuring that provisions are inventoried, properly stored and inspected as required. As well as other assigned duties by the Master or Chief Mate.

    To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have
    • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
    • AMSA-issued Certificate of Proficiency or Certificate of Recognition as Marine Cook with
      the following additional qualifications:
    • Certificate of Safety Training (COST) (STCW Reg VI/1
    • Elementary first aid—Reg VI/1 Code A-VI/1 table A-VI/1-3
    • AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness
    • Current driver’s licence (Code Class C)
    • MAR30415 Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Marine Cookery) or SIT30816 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Desired)
