Reporting to the Merchandise & Marketing Manager, you’ll deploy and develop strategies at State level to support the State in growth of their sales and market share for the Ambient and Perishable offering. You’ll build strong relationships with the Buyers and Suppliers and establish a viable alternative to competitors and sustain consumer loyalty to the retail offer.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure National and State strategic initiatives are deployed and executed by the Buyers
• Ensure that State strategies are supported by Promotions and incorporated into the promotional plan
• Maximise supplier investment and deals through supplier negotiation, identifying new opportunities of growth and managing the Buyers to undertake these initiatives
• Negotiate with suppliers to provide successful promotional strategies in line with trading agreements to complement National strategies
• Lead a high performing buying team of 4

What You’ll Bring

Extensive experience in a related FMCG role, eg: Buying, highly desirable

Strong ability to implement procedures and execute strategies

Proven ability in managing a team

Strong presentation & influencing Skills

Proven understanding of supermarket retailing and supply chain efficiencies
