About Us:
MCWA has been in operation for 37 years and continuous to grow and address the many needs of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities through in home aged care and social support engagement. The not-for profit organisation is governed by a Board of Directors and operates at a state level with head office located in Maribyrnong.
About the Role:
In this role you will assist clients in their daily activities to promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
Key duties and responsibilities for this role include:
- Home Help - general house keeping including vacuuming, bathrooms and kitchen cleaning
- Personal Care - including showering, grooming and assistance with dressing
- Respite and Transport - providing social support and transportation to medical appointments and grocery shopping
- Building client rapport and providing amazing customer service
- Reporting changes in client’s health status
- Ensure a high quality of service and safety of all clients
While performing the duties of this position you will be expected to engage with clients and ensure they feel comfortable through relationship building and quality care.

Skills and Experience Required:
- Experience in working with the frail aged, and people with a disability is desirable
- The ability to speak or understand either the Macedonian, Croatian, Serbian, or Bosnian or any other multicultural language
- Strong interpersonal, communication and team work skills
- First aid certificate (Level 2)
- Minimum of Certificate III in Individual support, Disability support, Aged Care, Ageing Support
- A current Police Check
- Well developed problem solving and decision making skills
- A current Drivers Licence and access to a reliable car
- Understanding of Duty of Care and respect the needs for confidentiality in dealing with participants and their families
- Understanding of the aged care quality standard
