About the Role

Our client a Queensland Government experienced Senior Policy Officer department is seeking an.

Working within the Policy and Legislation unit, this position is to deliver high quality policy services and legislation interpretation for the client’s operational activities.

  • Provide early and ongoing interpretation and policy advice for the Policy and Legislation team and the broader operational divisions
  • Work positively and collaboratively with key internal stakeholders (including Legal Services Unit) and subject matter experts (SMEs) across the organisation to interpret and understand proposed changes to policy, legislation and other statutory mechanisms impacting the client and its stakeholders.
  • Prepare and coordinate briefs, submissions and other organisational responses to requests for feedback on proposed legislative and other amendment.
  • Undertake research and analysis on relevant policy and regulatory issues including investigations into industry trends, other jurisdictions positions, models and approaches, academic literature etc.
  • Contribute to the quality assurance of all communications, presentation and education materials.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will have:

  • Proven government policy background and experience working within Building and Construction.
  • Proven policy and legislation experience preparing and coordinating briefs and submissions.
  • Have excellent research skills and able to analyse relevant policy and regulatory issues
  • Superior interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to work from home and in the office.
