At R/GA, Media & Connections is a part of an integrated strategy team that is made up of brand & experience strategists, connections planners, marketing sciences, influencer & media experts that work collaboratively to provide innovative strategies that create high-value outcomes for brands.

Our Connections Planners are the cornerstone of this intersection, working as true “connectors” to bring everyone and everything closer together. They work closely with clients, creatives, media teams, and agency partners to define outcomes and outputs as well as provide stewardship over how, where and when strategies come to life. 

As a Connections Planner at R/GA your work won’t just live in a slide or framework, it will unlock details that will help inform the work. You’ll turn insights into briefs and plans that will make the creative work smarter and the media work harder. You’ll give everything a purpose and a place. You’ll bring structure and clarity to the creative process as well as your own unique POVs and inspiration. You’ll help bring brands, products and experiences to market with impact, effectiveness, and coherence across the most relevant touch points.

On any given day you might:

  • Research and define audience personas, consumer decision journeys, strategic platforms and communication frameworks that inform where, when and how a brand should connect with the target audience
  • Write strong social briefs that provide both inspiration and clarity for creative teams
  • Develop activation playbooks that include: ecosystems, channel roles with channel-specific content strategies, content calendars, and best practices
  • Develop POVs on media, advertising, social and marketing; educate clients and internal stakeholders on trends in consumer engagement with media
  • Participate in new business pitches by providing research on the consumer, category, competitors, and culture. 

The ideal person:

  • Can distill complex and disparate information into concise and actionable communications plans to help guide clients, agency partners, and internal teams
  • Is an epic collaborator and can find a unifying ground between departments, crafts and people
  • Can think “big picture” but can also get down to tactics quickly
  • Has expert knowledge of social plus paid, owned and earned channels and platforms, with a depth of expertise and passion for all things digital 
  • Has a respected point of view on the work Connections strategy informs, and can influence and guide creative and media outcomes
  • Can identify the real issue behind a problem and articulate how we could solve it using tools & processes
  • Has intermediate to expert knowledge of research tools such as: Simmons, GWI, Mintel, WARC, eMarketer, CommsPoint, Kantar and Comscore
  • Stays on top of industry trends, new media programs/opportunities and can advise on new ways to reach targets

You bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in Comms Planning, Content Strategy, Social Strategy, or Connections Planning (Agency preferred) 
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
