The opportunity
Taking a proactive approach, the IT Support Specialist will work to ensure that hardware and other needs are prepared and ready to swap out to ensure business continuity, while maintaining a healthy IT environment.

Key responsibilities and activities of this role will include:

  • The support of ICT services to provide an always available IT environment.
  • Shared responsibility for uptime of servers and systems.
  • Implementation, including testing, of software/hardware upgrades, as required.
  • Maintenance, management and reporting on server backup activity via Veeam and other backup services.
  • Setup and deploying of laptops, desktops, printers, etc.
  • Supporting end user operating systems/applications.
  • Incident management - diagnosis and troubleshooting of service desk tickets.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying hardware, operating system and file system faults.
  • Troubleshooting problems and making recommendations for modifications to rectify faults.
  • Sourcing and ordering new hardware and software.
  • Documentation of procedures, configurations and solutions, and proactively seek and update information to procedures and FAQs.
This role is based at our Sydney campus and is being offered on a permanent, full time basis.

About you
You have the balanced skill of working well within a team, building relationships, as well as working independently. You are proactive with your continual learning and development and have strong communication skills. Your exceptional organisational and time management skills supports your results driven approach.

The following skills, experience and qualifications will support your success in this role:
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience using Active Directory, Group Policy and PowerShell
  • Experience using Windows 10 (troubleshoot, sys prep, build, imaging)
  • Experience using Linux (administration and best practice)
  • Experience using AWS, Office 365 administration and Exchange server administration
  • Basic IP networking skills for troubleshooting.
  • Experience in the education sector is highly regarded.
