Job Expectations

Senior Manager, Organisation Design

Within nbn’s People & Culture group, the People Strategy & Effectiveness is about ensuring nbn has a future-focused, holistic People & Culture strategy to reflect the direction of nbn and the industry. We stay abreast of external trends and market forces and work collaboratively to: design the nbn operating model and future workforce strategy; shape the culture, capabilities and experiences of our people so we can be better together influencing the industry. We enable the business with innovative and adaptive learning solutions to successfully deliver on nbn’s purpose and operational needs.

We do this in a way that is data-driven, innovative and adaptive to the changing needs of the business and industry, bringing leading practice, knowledge, experience and expertise to challenge the status quo.

A bit about your role

As a People and Culture centre of excellence (CoE), the People Strategy and Effectiveness (“PSE”) team must continue to be highly connected and in tune with the agendas and operating realities of the Business Units, partnering closely with the Transformation Office to ensure the nbn operating model is purpose-driven, meets and anticipates future business (and industry) needs.

Reporting to the General Manager, People Strategy & Transformation, the Senior Manager, Organisation Design is accountable for leading operating model and organisation design projects and initiatives of high strategic value. This includes leading ‘end-to-end’, supporting senior business leaders to articulate the strategic objectives of organisational change, performing a holistic review of the current operating model and organisation design, developing high level operating model or organisation design options and then proceeding to develop the detailed organisation structure, roles and accountabilities and working with partnering teams to support the transition and implementation planning.

The role requires deep expertise in operating model and organisation design; leading relevant external thinking and strong insight into the relationship between the organisation design and business performance.

A bit about you

You will have a proven record as a senior professional in leading people strategy, operating model and organisation design activities; understanding of both corporate and people strategy development; and a strong working knowledge of end to end management organisational change. You will have a deep understanding of how to evaluate and redesign aspects of operating models and how changes in strategy impact the operating model.

Furthermore, you will have strong experience consulting with business leaders on critical strategic problems; working through a challenging period of transformational change working in fast and agile ways, and strong presenting and influencing skills at senior and executive leadership level.

Experience working within large scale transformation programs and gained working in a management consulting, or similar, environment will be considered of benefit. You will be numerically and analytically strong and highly capable at constructing narratives and delivering presentations to support your insights and drive alignment across senior leadership groups.
