Senior Manager Retail Credit Analytics

Risk Management is responsible for protecting the Group's interests by offering insightful risk leadership and a commercial yet independent approach to managing risks. The Board and Regulators trust Risk Management to be the line of defence that ensures returns are achieved within an acceptable level of risk.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to build a new team leveraging data to provide assurance on retail credit risk management practices, and would suit a wide range of backgrounds.

Here in Retail Banking Services Risk Management, we support a range of flexible ways of working including partial remote working, non-standard hours and part time employment.

We're interested in hearing from people who

  • Are interested in risk management, willing to learn and be part of a highly engaged, inclusive team
  • Have an interest and capability in data, analysis and solving commercial problems. Proficiency in an analytics toolset or coding language such as SAS, SQL, R, Python etc. will be well regarded but not essential, with relevant training available as required
  • Have proficient verbal and written communication skills, can problem solve and effectively engage with key business stakeholders
  • Can think creatively, handle change and deadlines
  • Likely degree qualified in an area such as Commerce/Economics/Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Computer Science, Science/Engineering or any other applicable degree.
Your responsibilities in this role
  • Building and Leading from the ground up a new team of 1-2 credit risk/analytics professionals
  • Be depended upon as the senior colleague in a new work location in Melbourne
  • Perform data analysis to monitor, measure, and manage risks
  • Engage with and advise front line colleagues on application of lending practices, credit policy, risk appetite and regulation
  • Support the management and monitoring of credit risk
  • Engagingly present results to audiences of varied backgrounds and seniority
  • Work productively together with your team to meet deadlines
