What you'll be doing

Provide a high level of care to all patients presenting to the MNCLHD; this includes patient assessment, appropriate investigation, formulation and implementation of a management plan; patient admissions, transfers and making appropriate referrals and/or follow-up arrangements and completion of all required documentation including comprehensive discharge referrals.

  • Registration with the Medical Board of Australia. with a minimum of 7 years post graduate experience.
  • Demonstrated current competency in patient care for all triage categories and ages; cardio pulmonary resuscitation, airway management, early management of severe trauma, head and spinal injuries, management of medical, surgical and obstetric emergencies, management of paediatric emergency presentations, assessment and management of acute psychiatric presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe and effective patient care, working independently and without direct supervision including the supervision of junior doctors.
  • Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to use problem solving skills and a multi-disciplinary team approach in the planning, delivery and co-ordination of patient care.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call roster as required and the ability to participate in a rotating roster including night duty.
  • Current drivers licence.
