JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Account Manager, Polymer Additive Sales
Department: Sales
Location: Australia
Reports to: Sales Manager, SEA & ANZ region
Responsibilities
- Direct in-depth contact with customers to promote assigned products portfolio.
- Direct contact with polypropylene convertors (injection molders, blow molders, sheet producers, film producers, etc.), specifiers, and PP resin manufacturers to promote assigned product portfolio.
- Direct contact in other industry segments to promote other products and services as assigned.
- Qualify leads generated by ads, press releases and other promotional activities. Prioritize leads and inquiries to focus on those in line with marketing and sales strategies.
- Attend trade shows, conferences and technical meetings involved in the promotion of polypropylene and other chemical products.
- Help develop sales / market strategies assigned products portfolio.
- Report technical problems to US and Singapore technical center with suggested solutions. Implement solutions.
- Identify new markets.
- Continuously gather competitive information and report to management.
- On a continuing basis review and recommend changes that need to be made in sales / market strategies.
- Submit reports to global business units in line with business requirements.
- Strong contacts and industrial knowledge of PP & PE end users such as automotive, electrical appliances, personal care, packing industry etc.
- Technically sound
- Team player with ability to work in cross functional and cross-cultural team, comfortable with working though others parties to achieve results.
- Able to work independently, think strategically and be creative and resourceful
- Strong hunter in creating demand, generating excitement over new products and strong business acumen in identifying new business opportunities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills ; comfortable with direct contact, develop and maintain relationships with all levels in customers’ organizations, including senior management to lower operational and administrative levels.
- Recognized university qualification – a Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or other sciences.
- At least 3 - 5 years sales experience in the polyolefin industry. Other areas of experience could include technical service, or sales, production or R & D.
- Candidates with prior experience in leading projects or virtual teams, or are champions of certain process or product are preferred.
- Be an ambassador to present Company’s products, services and business offerings.
- Flexible in adapting to Western Company culture as well as functioning well in the traditional business culture of country. Candidate will be the liaison to communicate important business issues and opportunities back to Western management.
- Candidates should ideally have prior MNC working experience, and be exposed to US or European or large MNC working culture.
- As least 50% travel is expected within assigned region.
