About the role and team

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and organised Legal Assistant to join our reputable Commercial team in Perth. The successful candidate will be working across our Employment and Commercial Dispute Resolution sections and will have the opportunity to undertake paralegal tasks within the role to provide variety and challenge.

Duties

This role will work directly with one Partner, two Special Counsel, one Senior Associate and two lawyers and will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Diary management
  • File management - open to close of files
  • Conflict checks for clients
  • Preparation of monthly team billing
  • Phone calls
  • Compiling briefs
  • Event co-ordination
  • Managing incoming calls for the team
  • Drafting and preparation of correspondence
  • Co-ordination of team expenses
  • Opening and closing of files including conflict searches
  • Basic researching for the team
  • Organising travel arrangements
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required
We would like to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience;
  • At least 3 years' experience as a legal assistant in a commercial law firm, preferably in within commercial litigation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive and an ability to prioritise tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
