An opportunity has arisen for an experienced technical Administrator to monitor network and systems on a major road network project in the Lendlease Services business in Melbourne.

Lendlease’s Services business is a specialist maintenance and asset management contractor that provides services to the roads, water, telecommunications, power and industrial sectors. Services is responsible for creating, operating and maintaining public and private infrastructure which services millions of people every day and keeps communities connected and running.

Working in conjunction with the Network and Systems Engineer the role is responsible for maintaining, reporting and improving the systems and network infrastructure of the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) on Melbourne’s freeways. The Network and System Administrator will be required to:

• Monitor the health and KPIs of the ITS network devices
• Actively manage the ITS Linux servers & associated applications
• Rectify faults in the network and support systems
• Act as a point of escalation for ITS technicians when diagnosing edge device and network faults
• Ensure access to systems and required software for the network operation center and ITS technicians

You will have a willingness to learn new technologies and work independently or remotely. Previous experience in maintaining Linux systems and applications, and familiarity with Bash and Python scripting is ideal. A basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP addressing, Routing and SNMP, as well as a working knowledge of Cisco routers and switches is also preferable. The role requires the application of professional concepts and theoretical knowledge acquired through specialized training or considerable “on the job” experience.
