We require an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our enthusiastic and dedicated Leisure and Lifestyle team for 76 hours per fortnight. The Leisure & Lifestyle Team Leader are responsible for providing a quality standard of person centered care to all residents (including those with dementia and challenging behaviours). Every resident is to be treated as an individual, with the utmost respect and dignity. Work focus is to achieve optimal independence for the resident, to support the residents’ emotional needs and enhance quality of life.

To succeed in this busy and enjoyable work environment you will need to have organised work methods, well developed interpersonal and administration skills.

Essential:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
  • Experience managing Dementia Specific Residents behaviours
  • Willingness to obtain Bus/Light Rigid license
  • Ability to communicate effectively with elderly and disabled people
  • Ability to devise and implement activity programs
  • Understanding of WHS principles
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Current CPR knowledge
  • Current Influenza Vaccination
  • Current National Criminal History Check

Desirable:

  • Demonstrate ability regarding creativity, craft/Art
  • Demonstrate experience with Dementia specific residents
  • Availability to work flexible hours
  • Hepatitis B vaccination

To be eligible to apply for this position you must be eligible to work in Australia, be able to provide documentary evidence of current Influenza Vaccination and be willing to undertake a criminal record check in accordance with the requirements of the Aged Care Act 1997.
