JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a male Mental Health Recovery Worker with experience and relevant qualifications in mental health to join our team in Bunbury. 

This role will be supporting a number of male clients and assisting to lead our Men's Group. You will be assisting customers who are living with mental illness and helping them to live the life they choose!

 Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health or relevant qualifications;
  • A genuine commitment with demonstrated skills and knowledge working with people experiencing mental illness;
  • Relevant experience in mental health community support;
  • NDIS experience;
  • A proven capacity to deal with challenging issues;
  • Highly developed innovative and creative thinking abilities, problem solving abilities, compassion, empathy and professionalism;
  • Ability to be resourceful, creative and adaptable within role boundaries;
  • Understanding of the person-centred approach;
  • Confidentiality and diversity awareness;
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently comfortably;
  • Effective listening skills and ability to share practical information in an appropriate and respectful manner;
  • Ability to ensure that the safety and well being of customers are maintained;
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft packages, word processing, email and internet).

 Prerequisites: 

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to apply;
  • Current Working with Children Check Card;
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence with no restrictions;
  • Current Provide First Aid Certificate.
