About the Role

Ambiata is looking to embark on its next phase of business growth and we are looking for a Head of Sales whose purpose and unique contribution will be to lead and drive all sales related activities.


In this role, you will be responsible for achieving a significant revenue target which will require identifying potential opportunities, and developing and selling compelling propositions that deliver outstanding client value, resulting in genuine and enduring client relationships.


To be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of the sales process and related commercial areas and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Previous experience in a sales role is essential with knowledge of the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning industry being advantageous.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development and implementation of Ambiata’s overall market strategy formulation and strategic positioning
  • Determining and delivering the roadmap to acquire new customers to realise Ambiata’s significant revenue growth aspirations
  • Driving the full lifecycle management of the sales pipeline including sourcing, evaluating, transacting and managing leads and prospects
  • Leading the strategic guidance and delivery of account planning and sales management activities that drive the Client Delivery teams to determine and deliver new sales opportunities within existing client accounts
  • Co-creation and delivery of a joint marketing and business development approach with your Ambiata colleagues and internal IAG teams
  • Securing partnerships with other organisations to identify and secure new sales opportunities
  • Driving the success of Ambiata’s sales & business development activities by working closely with both the Finance Director, Manager Sales & Business Development and CEO; and
  • Conducting commercial and risk assessments and mitigation options
  • Understanding the potential of big data / machine learning, and how this can be realised in potential clients


Skills & Experience:

  • Developing growth strategies and plans, including experience working to and exceeding targets
  • Identifying and establishing trusted relationships with new clients
  • Managing, retaining and deepening relationships with existing clients
  • Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value propositions surrounding Data, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Writing business proposals and negotiating with stakeholders
  • Developing (and delivering) presentations
  • Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs
  • Researching business opportunities and viable income streams
  • Following industry trends locally and internationally
  • Drafting and reviewing contracts
