JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity exists for a talented Analyst in our Sydney office preferably for an immediate start. As an Analyst you will play an integral part in our Master Trust team providing a broad range of analytical support for our strategy, project and ongoing management activities associated with the Russell Investments Master Trust. The Master Trust team seeks to help members improve their outcomes before and through retirement through a high performing, competitive and innovative superannuation offering.

This diverse role would give the successful candidate exposure to superannuation, investments, insurance and “big data” and provides a great platform for career growth in several directions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Team member on major projects (investment, insurance, platforms, product innovation)
  • Analytic support for our exciting new product innovation, GoalTracker(TM)
  • Assisting with the development of strategy in response to legislative and market developments
  • Providing data insights on the membership of the Master Trust
  • Preparation of complex calculations and responses to technical queries
  • Reviewing communications materials and website calculators and models for technical accuracy
  • Assisting with the insurance tender project for Master Trust clients
  • Assisting with the Master Trust investment reporting and monitoring
  • Project management of analytical work, particularly as part of cross-functional projects


Skills/Attributes Required

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications including degree in actuarial studies, commerce, finance or economics, with excellent grades;
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative skills and excellent judgment;
  • Proficient with Microsoft office, in particular Excel (including Visual Basic)
  • Competency with Access and R preferred
  • A good team worker, capable of building strong and trusted internal working relationships across businesses and functions in order to deliver required results.
  • Hands-on approach;
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills and ability to present complex concepts and messages in structured terms;
  • Drive and determination to succeed in a competitive market and dynamic environment;
  • Experience within the superannuation or insurance industry strongly preferred
  • Membership of the Actuaries Institute of Australia preferred.
