We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to actively source and secure new business and to ensure our Summits remain the first choice with Event Sponsors and Exhibitors across ANZ. The role will be ideally suited to someone that has experience working in a sales capacity within the event and/or advertising/media industries – social media may also be a good fit. The right candidate will also need to be flexible with working hours as much of our business is on the East Coast and some in NZ. When working on projects across those time zones, it is ideal to be operating on a similar time zone as your target audience. We are happy to provide as much flexibility as is required here; i.e. standard work hours are 8:30am – 5pm Mon-Thurs and 8:30am – 4pm on Friday. If you’re working on a project in Sydney or Melbourne and decide that you want to start at 6:30am then your finish time is 3pm.

Your duties will include:

  • Consistently sourcing, canvassing and closing new business opportunities.
  • Advocating for BIAP's industry-leading portfolio of events.
  • Outbound calls and generating decisions with potential event sponsors.
  • Attending face to face client meetings and industry events as required.
  • Managing the administrative elements of your role to ensure that deadlines, sales targets and client obligations are met.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a telephone based and client facing sales role (event or media sales preferred). 
  • A proven ability and drive to source and secure new business.
  • An ability to develop standout tailored solutions in response to a client specific requirements.
  • Excellent time management and planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic, be proactive and target driven
  • Be as comfortable working as a team player as you are autonomously with a positive "can do attitude".
