Do work that makes a difference

As the Part-Time Editor (2.5 days per week) you will help achieve the RBA’s communication goals by leading editorial services for all external communication materials. You will be responsible for providing advice on how to improve the Bank's written communications. A natural collaborator and adept communicator, you will work closely with our communications partners and teams throughout the Bank to ensure our written content is accurate, accessible and effective. You will help ensure complex ideas are translated into plain English.

You will provide high quality and efficient editorial and copyediting services for publications, speeches and other written materials. You will also proofread and provide general quality assurance for other materials, including website copy, educational content and promotional materials.


Your team

You will be working in the Communications Division of Secretary’s Department. The division provides advice on and execution of external and Bank-wide communication programs, manages media relationships and public enquiries and maintains the RBA’s websites. Reporting to the Manager, Communications, you’ll work closely with the communications team, including communications advisors, web developers and digital designers delivering projects across a range of platforms.


Your background

To be successful in this critical role you will possess;

  • Proven proofreading skills and a working knowledge of plain English standards
  • Experience developing written communications for different stakeholders using existing and new platforms
  • Experience writing and editing publications
  • Experience copyediting for websites and promotional material
  • Experience in or knowledge of financial services or central banking would be an advantage
