THE OPPORTUNITY

The Assistant Accountant position is a key function of MiQ’s business, providing financial administrative support to MiQ’s APAC Team and working collaboratively within our global Finance network. The successful candidate will be empowered to manage payroll, accounts receivables and payables for the APAC Team and help the wider network to execute month end procedures within tight timeframes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accounts Receivable/Payable Duties across ANZ and SEA markets
  • Revenue, Trading Agreement and Payroll reconciliations for month end
  • Debtor Control & Liaison across ANZ and SEA markets
  • End to End Payroll including month end commissions calculations and associated journals
  • Produce Debtors/Creditors reports for Cashflow reporting across ANZ and SEA markets
  • Bank Reconciliations & Staff Expenses across ANZ and SEA markets
  • Management Accounts preparation (prepare and post journals, KPI Reporting, flag issues)
  • Contribute to weekly forecast report preparation for ANZ
  • Core liaison for SEA annual audit
  • Maintain inter-company schedule across ANZ and SEA markets
  • Monthly FBT Reconciliation for ANZ
  • Contribute to process improvements & general office administration duties when required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working with co-located and international teams across different time zones with competing deadlines and compliance requirements
  • APAC experience, must have worked with teams in Australia and Singapore, including demonstrable experience in meeting Audit and Tax compliance in both regions
  • Must have demonstrable experience in transactional accounting duties (AP, AR, Payroll & Bank Reconciliations) and basic Management Accounts experience (Fixed Assets, Prepayments, Accruals and journal preparation), applied across multiple markets concurrently
  • Demonstrable experience with SAP, Concur and Salesforce. Strong Excel skills and ability to reformulate data into Google Workspace
  • Strong analytical skills are essential - ability to translate complex information concisely for diverse audiences (including at the Executive level)
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
