Our client is an award-winning blue collar service provider, who are proud of their reputation for providing an exceptional quality of work, with a strong customer-focussed approach. Their continued year-on-year growth has created a new position, which will oversee payroll, improve payroll systems functionality, and provide support to the HR Director.

About the Role
As the Payroll Specialist & HR Officer, you will provide guidance to the Payroll Officer and participate in the processing of a weekly payroll of 200 employees. You will interpret and apply Awards, calculate bonuses and commissions and use MS Excel to create reports. You will prepare, balance and reconcile payroll tax, PAYG and superannuation and comply with all relevant legislation.

You will manage the payroll ERP and align it to the company EA. This includes the configuration of payroll rules, the testing of payroll processing on all changes and updating workflow, procedure and policy documents. You will provide training to staff on new processes.

Other responsibilities will cover all areas of HR, including recruitment support - interview coordination, reference checks, organising medical and police checks and issuing employment contracts, and more general HR tasks as requested.

About You
We are seeking a candidate who will support the HR Director's vision to create process efficiencies as well as an environment of integrity of business processes and people. You must have comprehensive knowledge of Payroll systems and legislation. With your high-level Excel skills you will be able to perform calculations and analysis. The successful candidate will be able to work in a robust environment and have a mature approach.
