The company I am partnering with services major mobile fleet operations, on a national scale, across a multitude of industry sectors.

As the Production Manager you will be the bridge between the Engineering Division and the Fabrication Workshop. Complete correspondence of production status with a suite of contracts must be maintained, between all internal and external parties.

General duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Effectively and efficiently manage production to meet the required daily / weekly / monthly targets in line with customer and statutory specifications, quality requirements and delivery expectations, minimising costs where possible and ensure best working practices are implemented and always maintained.
  • Provides regular feedback and reports and maintains interaction with the Operations Director and senior management team by leading weekly production planning meetings.
  • Responsible for shop floor production and staff to meet schedule requirements and demands whilst maintaining an orderly and productive workshop. Manage DIFOT performance.
  • Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by appropriate data analysis and recognised production methodologies.
  • Attend various meetings with clients, suppliers, contractors, and management.
  • Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems should quality issues and non-conformances arise.
  • Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors within the department.
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, and safety to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas of the department.
  • Overall responsibility associated with job documentation and accurately assign stock and labour requirements on completion of works.

A little bit about you:

  • 10+ years in a lead manufacturing/production role with fabrication.
  • A fabrication trade background or equivalent experience.
  • Professional Engineering or Project Management qualification preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy/mobile equipment.
  • A background with quality management and OHS procedures.
  • A proven track record managing projects.
  • A passion for leadership, innovation and continuous improvement.
