About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for investigating and reporting on complex strategic planning issues and proposals, and providing specialist strategic planning advice as part of the planning team. You will be required to engage with the community and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes on complex planning matters.

The role will see you coordinating complex strategic planning projects, including preparation of the City’s Local Planning Strategy and new Town Planning Scheme, as well as formulating, assessing and reviewing Planning Policies, Structure Plans and Scheme Amendments.

You in the role

You must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and have proven negotiation and financial management experience. Advanced knowledge of Town Planning Administrative and Statutory procedures and policies is essential in this role. You have extensive experience in dealing with complex Strategic Planning projects such as structure planning, major planning projects and policy development.

To be the successful applicant, you must be degree qualified in Urban and Regional Planning (or equivalent) and be eligible for membership to the Planning Institute of Australia. A current WA ‘C’ class driver’s licence is an essential requirement.
