The Role
Our Payroll team are looking for 2 accomplished Payroll Officers to join them on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The Payroll Officer role is accountable for providing accurate, timely and efficient payroll services to the QSuper group. This encompasses the provision of complex payroll calculations and transactions, as well as providing support to the Payroll team.

This role is required to provide a responsive, accurate client advisory service on payroll matters, resolve difficult enquires and assist in identifying payroll errors and implementing correct action when required. You will also be responsible for the timely and accurate end to end processing of the fortnightly payroll for the QSuper group in line with current Enterprise Agreement, contracts and QSuper policies and procedures.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

The ideal Payroll Officer will demonstrate some or most of the below:

  • Demonstrated ability and experience in preparation, entry and processing of payroll data
  • Current knowledge of ATO and superannuation fund guidelines
  • Advanced computing skills and knowledge of financial reporting/payroll packages
  • Experience with large ERP systems (e.g. Oracle E-Business, Chris21, SAP, Preceda, Aurion)
  • Knowledge of relevant industrial relations, enterprise agreements, taxation and superannuation legislation and how they apply to the payroll function
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new information, processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated sound analytics and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated experience in relationship management with an external payroll provider
  • High level organisational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines
