The Role

We are currently looking for a Trade Assistant with an MC license to be based at our Townsville workshop. This position includes working on all makes and models of trucks, trailers including Rigid Trucks, Prime Movers and all types of Trailers. Other duties include looking after the general plant of the Workshop. This role also requires good communication skills with equipment operators. This position includes picking up / delivering parts to ensure minimal delays occur for customers having work completed at Toll. The position also includes general duties such as some cleaning, putting away parts and performing some weekly / monthly checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Picking up parts and delivery of parts as required
  • Yard movements of heavy vehicles as required
  • Pick-up and delivery of heavy vehicles
  • Minor cleaning and empty recycle Bins
  • Putting away parts
  • Assist with mechanical repairs as instruct by the Team Leader.
  • Maintain adequate written job cards and records as required.
  • To maintain appropriate standards of housekeeping and safety within the work areas.
  • Be available for overtime and call outs as required
  • To maintain quality and urgency in the work performed.
  • Work at different locations as required.
  • Follow work instructions, procedures and codes of practice for the safety of all employees and minimise risks in the workplace.

To be successful for the role you will have:

  • MC driver’s license, with experience operating
  • Forklift (LF) license preferred
  • Experience manoeuvring B-doubles
  • Willing to perform general yard duties
  • Knowledge of mechanical principals
  • Maintain regular communication with superiors and the workforce
  • Basic computer skills
