Where you'll be working

The Pharmacy Department at Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital provides comprehsive services, the supply of medications to inpatients and outpatients, drug information and aseptic dispensing. The diverse specialities offered at Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital will enable a senior phamacicst the exposure and opportunity to manage phamacy services to specialised fields such as ophthalmology, drug and alcohol, HIV, sexual health, hand surgery and general medicine.

The Pharmacy Department at Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital is a small team, looking for an enthusiastic senior pharmacist to form part of a motivated and supportive team, who is commited to working in a mutidisciplinary environment to provide exceptional pharmacy services and patient care. What you'll be doing

To provide leadership and quality management by ensuring the department operates and provides high quality pharmacy services as per accepted standards and benchmarks.

In collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy, be responsible for the management of pharmacy services at Sydney Hospital and Sydney Eye Hospital.

  • Full registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia with no restrictions on scope of practice use of medicines in a hospital setting
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in the provision of clinical pharmacy services and promotion of quality
  • Demonstrated experience in a management role in a hospital pharmacy setting including experience in leadership, problem solving, policy development and implementation
  • Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of hospital staff and patients. Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate well with the other staff working as part of the team
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, promote teamwork and manage clinical and support staff
