About Us:

Monash Health provides integrated health care services available to over 1.3 million people, representing 32% of the population of greater Melbourne. Monash Women's maternity service is the largest maternity provider in Victoria providing care to over 9,000 women each year across three hospitals: Monash Medical Centre, Dandenong and Casey. Monash Women's provides maternity care for well women as well as women with more complex and specialty needs. Monash Medical Centre provides tertiary level maternity care, pregnancy assessment unit, fetal diagnostic unit and has both adult and neonatal intensive care units situated on-site. This integrated service structure provides one of Australia’s safest levels of maternity care. Nursing and Midwifery Education and Strategy conduct clinical placements for a variety of education providers, across various sites, providing undergraduate midwifery students with supported, positive and diverse learning experiences.

About the Role:

The role of the clinical midwife educator is essential in building the workforce and ensuring that undergraduate students are work ready prior to commencing their employment. You will work both independently and collaboratively, facilitating students in the clinical environment, promoting a best practice, clinical learning environment. We have an fixed term part time, maternity leave cover position available for a Clinical Midwifery Educator available at Monash Health. This position will commence late May 2021 and until May 2022. You will be required to work part time, Mon- Fri with specific days to be discussed.

About You:

  • Current registration with NMBA;

  • Recent relevant clinical experience in midwifery;

  • Excellent communication skills;

  • A sound understanding of clinical supervision, clinical assessment and advanced clinical practice;

  • An understanding of different learning and teaching styles;

  • Experience in clinical education;

  • Completion of or working towards post graduate qualification in midwifery and/or education;

  • Completion of or working towards Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is also highly regarded
