BUILDING + FACILITIES ASSET PLANNING MANAGER
Permanent | Full Time
Salary from $120,259 up to $141,659 per annum plus superannuation and an
option of a motor vehicle equalisation allowance or a lease for private use of a motor vehicle.
A 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance may also apply.
Package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications.

We are seeking a Building + Facilities Asset Planning Manager to collaboratively contribute to our strong and growing leadership team.

The Position

Wollongong City Council is investing in our largest ever capital works program and are excited to be offering an opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Building + Facilities Asset Planning Manager. Leading a small team, you will apply your leadership skills and asset management experience to deliver the effective development, planning, management and delivery of Council’s building and facilities infrastructure strategies and programs.

This position is also responsible for:

  • designing and delivering efficient and robust buildings and facilities that meet our community needs
  • developing, managing and implementing asset management programs for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance along to renew and create new assets as outlined in the Infrastructure Delivery Program (IDP)
  • providing collaborative leadership and direction to develop a high performing, customer and team focused culture.

Your success in this role will be demonstrated through your ability to lead strategically and develop sustainable infrastructure strategies and plans that drive Council’s continuous improvement in asset management. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage across all levels of the business. You will also have strong financial management skills, understand project live cycle and whole of life costings, and ability to analyse and interpret big data to drive programs

Please respond to the Essential Criteria below:
  • Completed a degree qualification in Engineering (e.g. Civil or Mechanical).
  • Extensive experience in asset management including asset management plans preparation, review and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage a team.
  • Demonstrated experience building strong working relationships and collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills to a broad range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects meet strict deadlines and deliver identified outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience and current understanding of environmental, heritage and sustainability principles and requirements as they apply to buildings and facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilise systems to analyse and interpret big data.
  • Demonstrate financial management skills to prepare, analyse and manage budgets.
